D.C. officials shared a draft master plan of the upcoming RFK Stadium and what the campus will look like. The multimillion-dollar development project is set to break ground by the summer of 2027 in Ward 7.
7News spoke to long-time D.C. and Ward 7 residents who live right next to and will be most impacted by what happens on the campus. The Office of D.C. Planning said it was their voices that played a role in what you’re about to see in this plan.
Alexis Pazmino is one of the hundreds of residents and thousands of online comments that the office of planning said the plan considered.
“We came to all the meetings, we filled out all the surveys, and we responded resoundingly with, ‘Please don’t put a parking garage here. Please don’t slice through our green space with a giant road’ and they did both,” said Pazmino. “We did everything we possibly could that they asked for. And they’ve done basically nothing that we’ve asked for.”
