Title:
President and CEO of VSJ, Inc.
Industry:
Communications, Public Relations, Crisis Management

What is your morning routine?
A: Most mornings, I wake up at 5:00 a.m. and the first thing I do is pray, meditate, and read my devotional. You can hear more when you are silent. Then, coffee, workout, and 8:45 am daily calls with my executive assistant.

How would you describe what you do?
A: “It’s handled” is the famous quote of Olivia Pope and an everyday phrase for me. We help clients ensure that the right people get the right information, at the right time, in the right manner. We help clients tell their story while developing, promoting, and protecting their reputation and brand through strategic communications, public relations, and crisis management.

What is the last book or article you read?
A: Fierce Leadership by Susan Scott.

Identify one trend in your industry you predict will change how business is done?
A: Quality videos are quickly becoming an essential communications method for all businesses. The current global pandemic has accelerated this trend while expanding the marketplace in today’s digital world.

What’s your favorite productivity habit?
A: Empowering my team to fully own and excel at their positions. Team work truly makes the dream work.

In business what is something that most people learn only after it’s too late?
A: Not all money is good money. Interview your potential clients as much as they interview you.
