Peloton Interactive Inc. (NASDAQ: PTON) has shuttered a Northern Virginia distribution center amid a larger wave of layoffs and plant closures across the country.
The New York-based exercise equipment maker shut down its operations at an industrial park in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County, according to a notice filed with the Virginia Employment Commission. The company said 81 employees were impacted by the closure, according to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice.
While there is typically some lead time between when a company files a WARN notice and when any cuts take effect, Peloton’s notice lists the notice date and date of impact as being on the same day, Feb. 8.
