Melonie Johnson is returning to her role as president and chief operating officer of MGM National Harbor.
She left the Prince George’s County resort in May 2020, moving on to take the same titles at MGM’s Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey — that city’s top-performing gaming venue. At the time, Jorge Perez, MGM’s regional portfolio president, took on the role as president of MGM National Harbor in addition to his other duties.
We’ve reached out to MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM) about Perez’s employment and will update this post when we hear back.
“I am thrilled to be back in Maryland where I look forward to reengaging with our employees and reconnecting with the Prince George’s County community,” Johnson said in a statement. “I was able to witness many of our resort’s successes during my previous three and a half years there, and I’m looking forward to working with the team towards many more in the years to come.”
