The federal government is warning prospective bidders not to low-ball their estimates for the FBI’s J. Edgar Hoover headquarters as they prepare to submit offers to build the agency a new one.
The General Services Administration issued a notice Thursday asserting its sole discretion to reject without further consideration any bids that do not assign a “fair and reasonable” value to the deteriorating Hoover building at 935 Pennsylvania Ave. NW. As per the amendment, posted to FedBizOpps.gov, bidders are encouraged to submit offers that “maximize the credit value of JEH toward the construction of the new FBI headquarters.”
