There’s a new No. 1 in town — for the most expensive dinner.

Established in 2020, Jônt, the 17-seat chef’s counter in the upstairs space of Chef Ryan Ratino’s Bresca on 14th Street NW, now sits atop our List of the most expensive restaurants in Greater Washington. For the past few years, this List has been made up exclusively of upscale restaurants offering a tasting menu: a fixed-price, multicourse dinner, usually made up of many bite-sized chef creations. A wine or beverage pairing is also usually offered to heighten what is meant to be the ultimate dining experience.

At Jônt, the tasting menu of more than 20 different preparations is $375 per person, with optional seven-beverage pairings ranging from $95 (for non-alcoholic drinks) to $195 for the signature wine pairings, up to $650 for the “F*** It” beverage pairing (explained on the menu as “You are already here, so you might as well…”). Averaging these three options with the tasting menu brings it to $688 per person.
