Prince George’s County school board member Belinda Queen announced her resignation from the board this week to focus on her county council campaign.
Queen was elected to the board in 2018. Her resignation from the District 6 seat is effective Monday.
In an interview Friday, Queen said she didn’t initially plan to resign but felt as though she had accomplished her campaign goals on the school board. As a lifelong county resident, she said she wanted to move to the county council to have a bigger impact on the jurisdiction’s residents.
