Despite acknowledging the inherent bias it has, companies are preparing to lean more heavily on artificial intelligence during the hiring process in 2025.
A recent survey from ResumeBuilder found 7 in 10 companies plan to use AI in some capacity during the hiring process and a majority of companies say they let AI reject candidates without human oversight.
The report, which surveyed 948 business leaders, found 51% of companies are currently using AI technology in their hiring process, and by the end of next year, 68% of companies will be using AI to bring in new talent. Large companies are expected to be most likely to adopt the technologies, according to the report.
As it stands, 82% of companies are using AI to review resumes, while 40% employ AI chatbots to communicate with candidates. Additionally, 23% of companies go as far as using AI to conduct interviews, 64% apply AI to review candidate assessments and 28% use the technologies to onboard new hires. At this point, only 0.2% of respondents reported not using AI in their hiring practices, indicating how critical the use of the technology has become.
