Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam Tuesday announced hundreds of millions of dollars have been made available for the Virginia Rent Relief Program.
The RRP is funded through the Emergency Rental Assistance program that was part of the recent stimulus package passed by the United States Congress. The RRP will assist households and landlords with rent payments to help Virginians avoid eviction.
Tuesday’s announcement shows $524 million in federal funds will go towards the RRP, while the state is kicking in another $160 million.
