William Hill, the operator of D.C.’s first sportsbook, launched a mobile sports betting application in the city in late December.
Potential users will still have to travel to the site of the betting company’s physical sportsbook to use it, however; it will only be operable within two blocks of the Capital One Arena, where William Hill’s venue is located.
That’s because William Hill holds a Class A sports betting license, which is the class of D.C. sportsbook license reserved for facilities located inside the city’s four main sports stadiums and arenas.
Just as with the D.C. Lottery’s own sports betting app, Gambet D.C., the William Hill app also will not take bets within federal buildings.
