CUMBERLAND — U.S. Senate candidate Chris Van Hollen was all ears on Saturday as he listened to Cumberland area small business owners talk about their needs.
Van Hollen, a Democrat and a sitting U.S. Representative from Maryland, attended a Cumberland Small Business and Entrepreneurship Roundtable during the noon hour at ACRE Coworking on North Centre Street.
“I’m looking for ways to coordinate the federal government, state government and private sector and to identify federal funding sources for small businesses,” Van Hollen told the group.
But mostly the candidate was there to hear from the business owners.
“A federal liaison is needed that can help business owners navigate the funding process,” said Daniel Taylor-Neumann, whose firm was hosting the meeting.
