Vaccinated Marylanders now have 40 chances to win $40,000 — and one chance to win $400,000 — as part of a new lottery program designed to encourage more residents to get inoculated against Covid-19, Gov. Larry Hogan said Thursday.
Suddenly that day you spent in bed sick after your second Covid-19 shot doesn’t seem so bad after all.
Starting May 25, the Maryland Lottery will randomly select and award $40,000 to one vaccinated Marylander every day through July 3. A final drawing for a $400,000 prize will take place on July 4.
Funding for the total $2 million lottery comes from the Maryland Lottery’s marketing fund, the governor said.
