Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) plans to convert a Silver Spring office building into a new service center, adding to the electric automaker’s small but growing presence in Greater Washington.
The new location would go in at 2320 Broadbirch Drive east of Columbia Pike, immediately south of the Home Depot and just north of the Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center, according to plans obtained from Construction Journal. The single-story office building was formerly occupied by State Farm Insurance.
Once converted, it will be Greater Washington’s seventh Tesla facility, joining standalone showrooms in D.C. and Bethesda, combined showrooms and service centers in Tysons and Arlington, and standalone service centers in Rockville and Sterling. Tesla previously operated a showroom at Tysons Corner Center, but that mall’s website no longer lists it as a tenant.
