Prince George’s Community College has wiped away any outstanding balances for currently enrolled students who were also enrolled between March 13, 2020 and August 20, 2021, says Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. Tyson Beale.
He says in total, more than $2.87 million of debt was paid off through the CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, meaning students didn’t have to pay.
“I’ve had some say to me I didn’t imagine that would happen for me here, and so to see the students benefit and to see the relief on their faces day in and day out since the fall, it has really been significant and a major contribution in terms of what we’ve been able to do for them here at the institution,” said Beale.
