7News learned a plan presented by President-elect Donald Trump could impact up to 100,000 jobs in the District. Federal and government jobs are the spine of Washington D.C. It has the largest number of federal employees.
As a candidate, President-elect Donald Trump presented his Agenda 47 plan. However, some have growing concerns over two points that would directly impact the District.
“There could be a lot of damage done to how government functions,” said Jennifer Victor, Associate Professor of Political Science at George Mason University.
“It would be really hard for it to happen if the Democrats take control of the house,” Victor said.
Trump’s website outlines a 10-point plan for Agenda 47. The site says he plans to dismantle the deep state. There are ten points in the plan. Point two wants to overhaul federal departments and agencies. Point 8 states that it will move up to 100,000 government positions out of quote the “Washington swamp”.
