The Montgomery County Economic Development Corp. has its first president and CEO.
David Petr, most recently the president of the Central Florida Development Council Inc., will lead Montgomery County’s new EDC, the group announced Thursday. Petr will step into the role on Sept. 6.
The nonprofit EDC, led by an 11-member board of private sector business heavies, formally replaced the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development as of July 1. As we reported last month, the EDC had identified a CEO pre-launch, but its candidate opted to stay where he or she was.
