MGM National Harbor has finalized the restaurant that will replace the restaurant that replaced Marcus.
Osteria Costa, an MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM) original concept that debuted at The Mirage in Las Vegas only six months ago, will fill the space formerly occupied by celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson’s Southern and Ethiopian-tinged Marcus. Samuelsson’s restaurant closed earlier this year, a “mutually agreed upon transition,” MGM National Harbor said at the time.
In its place, albeit temporarily, came Conservatory Cafe. The cafe is expected to close next month.
Osteria Costa will feature coastal Italian cuisine such as Neapolitan pizzas, homemade pastas and breads and fresh seafood. Its design, per a release, “will bring with it an authentic feel of Southern Italiy’s most desired coastline.” There’s no word yet on when it will open.
MGM National Harbor’s other celebrity chef-driven restaurants — Voltaggio Brothers Steak House from Bryan and Michael Voltaggio and Fish by José Andrés — which opened with the resort in late 2016, remain open, as do Ginger, food hall National Market and TAP Sports Bar.
