Maryland transit officials should work “as quickly as possible” to start to set Baltimore area residents’ expectations for the east-west Red Line transit project, Maryland Senate President Bill Ferguson said this week.
The Maryland Transit Administration is expected to share more information about options for the Red Line during a series of public meetings in early November, spokeswoman Veronica Battisti said Wednesday.
The transit administration, Battisti said, is reviewing two different modes of transportation, the extent of tunneling and alignment, particularly along the eastern part of the route.
Specifics about the Red Line, including whether it will include a tunnel and whether it will be a rail or a bus network, will have “huge cost implications,” Ferguson, a Baltimore City Democrat, said in an interview.
