On Monday, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball said Howard County’s unemployment rate for November dropped to 4.9%, down from 5.7% in October.
Howard County reached a peak unemployment rate of 8.1% in April 2020 and has seen that decrease steadily since then.
The County has also seen an overall decrease in weekly unemployment claims since this Spring, according to officials.
Prior to the pandemic in February 2020, Howard County recorded an unemployment rate of 2.7%, one of the lowest in Maryland.
