Students who attended the U.S. Naval Academy have some of the highest starting salaries among graduates of colleges and universities in Maryland, a new report from financial technology firm SmartAsset found.
Naval Academy graduates make an average starting salary of $83,700. That figure earned the Annapolis school the No. 1 spot in a ranking of Maryland colleges and universities based on their graduates’ early earnings, and the No. 7 spot in the national rankings.
SmartAsset’s list of the top schools in Maryland where graduates earn the highest starting salaries has not changed from its 2021 ranking. But what is different is how much those grads are now earning.
The average salary for Navy graduates this year is about $4,000 more, or a 5% increase, over the average starting salary of Navy graduates in 2021. In fact, all of the top five Maryland colleges in the ranking saw their graduates’ average earnings rise over the last year.
