Floor & Decor (NYSE: FND) plans to open a new outpost in Capitol Heights, expanding the national retailer’s presence from a trio of existing sites across Greater Washington.
The Atlanta company has signed a lease for nearly 81,000 square feet of to-be-developed retail space at Ritchie Station Marketplace, where it will join other national retailers including BJ’s Wholesale, Regency Furniture and TJ Maxx. Floor & Decor, which opened its 150th store in Texas earlier this month, also has local stores in Alexandria, Woodbridge and Gaithersburg, supported by a 1.5 million-square-foot distribution center in Baltimore. It is also expected to open a store in Leesburg, taking over a former Walmart.
“With this site, they can cover the entire geographic area from Gaithersburg to here,” Michael Isen, a senior vice president at NAI Michael, who represented the landlord along with Michael Michael DiMeglio, said of the Ritchie Station location. KLNB brokers Brian Finkelstein and John Meyer represented the tenant.
