MDOT MTA MARC Riverside Railroad Yard Outreach Event
MDOT MTA has identified the need for a new Heavy Maintenance Building to be installed at its MDOT MTA MARC Riverside Railroad Yard (Riverside Yard) in an effort to significantly reduce reliance on third party maintenance facilities not currently owned or leased by MDOT MTA. The RHMB will supplement the existing main shop building’s maintenance activities, and will include a 30-tonoverhead crane with a 10 ton auxiliary hoist, a wheel true machine, and a drop table, along with four new maintenance bays to perform heavy maintenance on MDOT MTA MARC locomotives and coaches. The new capabilities and additional maintenance bays will free up the existing main shop building to streamline running maintenance and federally required periodic inspections performed on MDOT MTA MARC locomotives.
MDOT MTA is procuring the Wheel Truing Machine (WTM) under a separate Contract. The WTM will be furnished by MDOT MTA and the Contractor shall install, and commission the WTM. MDOT MTA is procuring the Drop Table (DT) under a separate Contract. The DT will be furnished by MDOT MTA and the Contractor shall install, and commission the DT.
Beyond the equipment, this Heavy Maintenance Building project will contain work associated with all major building trades: Concrete, Structural steel, interiors, site improvements, trackwork and others.
This project has a 20.2% MDOT DBE participation requirement. Subcontractors who are MDOT DBE certified are highly encouraged to attend. This is a virtual event.
