Tuesday afternoon the D.C. Council voted unanimously to approve two new hospital projects in the District of Columbia. The council gave initial approval of the “New Howard University Hospital and Redevelopment Tax Abatement Act of 2020.”
Howard University plans to partner with Adventist Health to build a new 225-bed hospital on Howard’s campus. The council also gave final approval on a new hospital at St. Elizabeth’s East in D.C.’s ward 8.
Councilman and former Mayor Vincent Gray tells 7 On Your Side the plan would also bring the first two urgent care centers to Wards 7 and 8.
