The D.C. Chamber of Commerce has a new president and CEO — outgoing Councilman Vincent Orange.
Orange, D-At large, will continue in his role as councilman until the end of his term in January 2017 and will officially take the reins at the D.C. Chamber on Aug. 15. He currently serves as the chairman of the Committee on Business, Consumer and Regulatory Affairs.
Orange, an attorney and accountant who previously served as a region vice president of Pepco Holdings Inc., lost to Robert White in June’s Democratic primary for the at-large seat.
D.C. Chamber Chairman Carl Hairston said in a statement Orange will bring his professional experience as an elected official and business leader to the role.
