D.C. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Angela Franco is departing the organization in August after leading its membership through four challenging years that included the pandemic and its blistering impact on businesses.
After her term ends, Franco will take the reins of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, succeeding Gigi Godwin, a spokesperson for the MCCC said Thursday.
Franco, who joined the organization in July 2020, will leave the D.C. Chamber at the end of August, the group announced earlier in the day. A search for her successor will begin in the next few weeks.
“My contract expires at the end of August and I think I’ve done what I could at the organization,” Franco told me when reached by phone Thursday afternoon.
