Monumental Sports & Entertainment has revealed plans for more new luxury hospitality areas coming to Capital One Arena, which is getting set to begin an $800 million-plus renovation.
Monumental, the owner of the Washington Wizards, Capitals and Mystics, is teaming with United Airlines Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: UAL) — the first of several planned founding partners for the arena remake — on the United Globe Club and Lounge. The two luxury spaces are set to debut next fall at Capital One Arena and will be open to exclusive ticketholders for NBA and NHL games as well as the concerts and other events at the venue.
The new United-branded spaces will be located along the Sixth Street NW side of Capital One Arena. With many back-of-house operations at the arena shifting to space at the adjacent Gallery Place with the renovation, the arena is gaining space that will be transformed into new hospitality areas.
