Accelerate Maryland Partners (“AM Partners”) has been selected by MDOT as the preferred Developer for the Predevelopment Work for the American Legion Bridge I-270 to I-70 Relief Plan. AM Partners initial focus will be the delivery of Phase South with a targeted Financial Close by October 2022. Phase South is a multi-billion-dollar project comprised of design, construction, operations and maintenance and tolling of a high occupancy toll lanes of approximately 14 miles of heavily traveled highway in Maryland from south of the American Legion Bridge along I-495 to the I-370/I-270 interchange along I-270.
AM Partners will shortly be issuing a Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) for interested individual firms, joint ventures, teams (“Respondents”) interested in being a Contractor to the Developer for the design and construction (“D&C Contractor”) of a section of Phase South. The RFQ represents the first phase for the selection of a D&C Contractor(s) for each of the Phase South A (I-495 from the vicinity of the George Washington Memorial Parkway to I-270) and Phase South B (I-270 from I-495 to I-370). The Developer intends to shortlist Respondents for the second phase which will be comprised of two (2) separate (but broadly concurrent) design and construction procurement processes, one for Phase South A and one for Phase South B.
AM Partners will continue outreach to the local DBE community and will announce a future outreach event soon to interested DBE firms and individuals on opportunities. Additionally, AM Partners will be organizing “matchmaking” events with interested DBE firms and RFQ Respondents.
Interested parties for the design and construction should register for more detailed information and access to the Industry Day event to be held on June [15], 2021 by visiting the Developer’s website (https://www.acceleratemarylandpartners.com).
