Prince George’s County Fair organizers have sadly announced today that the 2024 fair has been canceled due to “insufficient volunteer manpower.”
“This decision has been made in the interest of ensuring a successful event in 2025 by allowing us the necessary time to rebuild our volunteer base,” stated via the fair’s official Facebook page.
A similar situation also caused the cancellation of this year’s Glen Burnie Carnival.
The Prince George’s County Fair is Maryland’s longest-running fair dating way back to 1842. According to the fair’s website, the fair was originally a friendly gathering place for local farmers to showcase their produce and livestock while having a little fun.
