Greater Baltimore’s wealthiest resident in 2023 moved to Florida, and now his cousin and business partner is the region’s richest man.
Billionaire Jim Davis of Cockeysville, 64, is worth $4.4 billion, according to Forbes’ 2024 World’s Billionaires List. At No. 712 on the list, that leaves Davis as the richest man in Greater Baltimore after his cousin — Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti — moved to Hobe Sound, Florida. Bisciotti was consistently atop the region’s net worth rankings released by Forbes, and today has a net worth estimated at $7.2 billion. His move leaves Maryland with 10 billionaires, one fewer than last year.
Davis saw his net worth remain steady from 2023 to 2024, though he dropped more than 80 spots on the list due to other billionaires’ holdings growing. Davis grew his fortune partly by founding staffing company Aerotek with Bisciotti in 1983, which has grown into Maryland’s largest private company, Allegis Group.
Though Davis claims the regional top spot, he is 280 spots below Maryland’s wealthiest resident: Annette Lerner, the 94-year-old widow of Washington Nationals owner and real estate titan Ted Lerner. Lerner resides in Chevy Chase and has a net worth of $6.4 billion and is No. 432 on the list. Those are slightly below last year’s marks of $6.5 billion and No. 390.
Three other Greater Baltimore residents made the cut: data analytics magnate Keith Dunleavy (Annapolis), Squarespace founder Anthony Casalena (Monkton) and Under Armour founder and CEO Kevin Plank (Lutherville-Timonium).
