The Peterson Cos. recently acquired a residential community in the city of Rockville near Shady Grove for $135.5 million, representing its only residential holding in that part of Greater Washington.
Two Peterson affiliates bought the 402-unit Huntington at King Farm apartment complex, comprising two parcels at 100 and 200 King Farm Blvd., as tenants in common on Sept. 11, according to deed records.
“It was an opportunity to grow our residential portfolio with a Class A asset,” a Peterson spokesperson told me in an email, confirming the new acquisition is the company’s only current residential property in the Montgomery County submarket. According to its website, Petersons’ only residential holdings in suburban Maryland, other than Huntington at King Farm, are in National Harbor.
