It’s been only two weeks since Wes Moore was elected to be the next Governor of Maryland and he’s already met with current Governor Larry Hogan, announced his transition team and made a number of key hires on his staff. Moore explained that this is his normal pace of accomplishing things.
“Get used to it because that’s how I plan on governing.”
However, in a one-on-one interview with 7News on Tuesday, Moore promised a more deliberate approach to the issues he wants to address. There is none bigger than Hogan’s now delayed plan to widen the Beltway and I-270 in Montgomery County using a public-private partnership and toll lanes. Moore has opposed the notion of high tolls but said he is not killing the plan.
“There are certain elements of the plan that has been proposed that I have objections to right?” But there’s a difference between having objections with certain elements of a plan and stating we are going to eliminate a plan.” Moore explained. “We have got to address the issue of congestion. It is a long-standing issue and we cannot continue punting it down the road.”
Moore also discussed his view on where the Commanders should continue playing their games. A topic that Hogan has been vocal about recently.
