The average for a gallon of regular gas in the DC metro area climbed by nearly a quarter since Tuesday, March 1, according to the AAA.
On Tuesday, the average for the DC Metro area was $3.591 and on Friday, March 5, the price surged to $3.838.
The AAA is also reported that the new national average across the U.S. is $3.83 a gallon — up by 11 cents Thursday.
In his State of the Union address, President Joe Biden said the U.S. was working with 30 other countries to release 60 million barrels of oil in global reserves.
