Maryland’s casino industry is on a winning streak.
The state’s six casinos set a new single-month revenue record for the third time in five months, bringing in a combined $180.1 million in July, according to the latest numbers released Thursday by Maryland Lottery and Gaming.
Last month’s revenue total is a 28.7% year-over-year increase compared with July 2020, when casinos were limited to just 50% capacity due to Covid-19. But the total is also the highest monthly figure the industry has seen in Maryland, even in non-pandemic times. The last single-month revenue record was set in May, when casinos brought in a combined $172.4 million.
In Prince George’s County, the powerhouse MGM National Harbor reported the highest monthly numbers, pulling in $72.3 million — a hefty 38.2% boost compared to a year ago. And Hanover’s Live Casino & Hotel reported $62.9 million in revenue, a 22.1% increase.
