Capital Lighting and Supply LLC, better known today as Capital Electric, will expand its Prince George’s County headquarters with a new warehouse and office facility immediately north of Joint Base Andrews.
The privately owned electrical and lighting distributor, a subsidiary of Paris-based Sonepar, will occupy a 362,880-square-foot building being developed for it by Trammell Crow Co. at 8711 Westphalia Road, per a release issued by the Maryland Department of Commerce.
Capital Electric, headquartered in Upper Marlboro, employs more than 230 full-time workers. It expects to hire 10 more employees over the next four years, per the release.
The commerce department has approved a $250,000 conditional loan through its Advantage Maryland fund, while Prince George’s has approved another $250,000 conditional loan to support the development project. Those loans generally convert to grants assuming the company meets job creation and capital investment requirements.
