Online home furnishings giant Wayfair will open a 1.2 million-square-foot distribution center at MRP Industrial’s Eastgate Logistics Park in Harford County as the state’s strong industrial market continues to gain steam.
The facility in Aberdeen will result in more than 250 new full-time jobs over the next six years, according to a press release from the Maryland Department of Commerce Wednesday. Its location near Interstate 95 will allow Wayfair to reach one-third of the country’s population in an overnight drive, Maryland Commerce Secretary Kelly M. Schulz said in a statement.
A Wayfair (NYSE: W) spokesperson said the company is targeting late 2022 to open the distribution center.
