The Edition, a 351-unit apartment building in Hyattsville, has traded hands for $103 million.
Fore Property Co. of D.C. and Los Angeles-based PCCP LLC sold the property to Akelius. Christine Espenshade and Robert Garrish of real estate services firm Newmark were the brokers on the transaction.
It’s the first acquisition in Maryland for buyer Akelius, a Swedish firm that has other U.S. holdings in Boston and New York. Akelius owns about 2,000 apartments in D.C. proper.
The Edition opened in 2019 at 3401 East West Highway in Hyattsville. The building has a mix of apartment that range from studios to three-bedrooms. It was part of a larger development at the former Kiplinger Editors Press property that also included townhomes and retail. The project is located just a short walk to the Prince George’s Plaza Metro station on the Green Line.
