The Neiman Marcus store in D.C. is looking for someone to take over its lease in Mazza Gallerie amid the luxury department store chain’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection proceedings.
A&G Real Estate is accepting bids for the lease of the 126,296-square-foot Northwest D.C. store. It’s one of four stores A&G has listed for sale, offering long-term and multiple-option leases. The other stores are in Palm Beach, Florida.; Walnut Creek, California.; and Bellevue, Washington.
The Mazza Gallerie location’s lease expires in 2027 but has options available through May 31, 2051. The store opened in 1977. Neiman Marcus is currently open for curbside pickup and appointments only.
The retail center at 5300 Wisconsin Ave. NW is owned by an entity affiliated with New York-based developer Ashkenazy Acquisition Corp., which purchased the property for $78 million in 2017. The mall’s other department store anchor is Saks Fifth Avenue.
