Black Entertainment Television is in talks to sell its former headquarters building in Brentwood as part of 7.8-acre offering.
BET, now owned by Viacom, retained Savills Studley to market the building at 1235 W St. NE, along with two smaller adjacent buildings, in mid-2016. Savills Studley executive managing director Vernon Knarr, the broker marketing the property, said the firm is close to a deal, but could not give further details.
The BET building’s value was most recently assessed at $15.2M. The property is adjacent to the Amtrak and MARC tracks, and the glass BET-labeled building can be seen from New York Avenue NE and Brentwood Road NE.
