Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett on Thursday joined Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker III and the CEO of Pepco Holdings in praising the utility’s recent merger with energy company Exelon and detailed its benefits to the county.
Noting Exelon’s investment in efficiency programs and sustainability efforts as well as the company’s commitment to foster job growth and reduce energy expenses, Leggett praised the merger as a boon for the county.
“All of these things come as the result of this particular merger,” he said at a press conference in the Silver Spring Civic Building. “The reliability the leadership that we have here, and all the things we’ve worked together on as a community up to today, will help us to make certain that this merger… benefits all our residents and businesses.”
