Ridership is on Metro’s rail system is down to its lowest levels since 2004, according to documents posted on Metro’s website.
Rail ridership fell six percent during the weekday and 12 percent during weekends.
Frequent and unpredictable delays were cited by Metro as likely factors to the decline.
According to the documents, Metro does not believe the drop is linked to a particular event of weather.
