Maryland Senate District 46, which wraps around Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, is a hot spot for wannabe medical marijuana dispensaries.
The Natalie M. LaPrade Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission received 29 applications for dispensaries in the South Baltimore district, the most in the state. Senate District 11 around Rockville also received 29 applications; Senate District 11 in Baltimore County received 26 dispensary applications.
The commission received a total of 1,081 license applications for dispensaries, growers and processors. The commission is expected to grant up two dispensaries per senatorial district, a maximum of 15 grower applications and an unlimited number of processor licenses.
