Prince George’s County Public Schools interim Superintendent Shawn Joseph addressed concerns about past controversies and outlined a 100-day plan for the district at a news conference Friday.
He takes the place of Millard House, who stepped down from the position June 13 after less than two years following a no confidence vote from the teachers’ union.
The event was meant as a welcome back for Joseph, who previously worked in PGCPS.
Joseph also answered questions about his previous tenure as the first Black director of the Nashville school system. He left that school system after he was accused of mishandling sexual harassment complaints against others. He also was scrutinized for not awarding any bid contracts.
