Downtown Largo continues to gain momentum as an emerging destination for entertainment, business, and community engagement with the announcement that The Sandlot will open a new outdoor gathering space near the Downtown Largo Metro Station.
According to Daniel J. Sernovitz of the Washington Business Journal, the temporary venue will occupy approximately 20,000 square feet, accommodate up to 800 guests, and operate through fall 2026 as part of the future Promenade at Lottsford mixed-use development. The partnership is investing approximately $500,000 to launch the activation, creating a vibrant destination while long-term development plans move forward.
For Prince George’s County businesses, the project represents more than a new entertainment venue—it demonstrates how creative placemaking can stimulate economic activity and increase visibility for surrounding commercial corridors.
