With the closure of Six Flags America in Bowie, Maryland, fast approaching in November, all eyes are on a new amusement park coming to the DMV.
The Kalahari Resort and Convention Center is slated to open in Spotsylvania County by the end of 2026 and bring a huge economic impact to the region.
Located just off I-95 at the Thornburg exit, Spotsylvania County officials expect the 135-acre development to bring in nearly $7 million in tax revenue each year.
“At build out, Kalahari Resort is projected to be the single largest taxpayer in the county,” the county’s website states.
