The race for D.C. mayor is shaping up to be a crowded one, after Mayor Muriel Bowser announced last week she won’t be seeking reelection.
So far, nine people have officially announced their intentions to run.
D.C. Councilmember Janeese Lewis George made her announcement Monday. Lewis George represents Ward 4 on the council and won a reelection bid last year.
As of Monday afternoon, seven candidates have officially filed with the Office of Campaign Finance: Adrian Byrd, Robert Gross, Rhonda Hamilton, Da’Moni Ivey, Regan Jones, James McMorris and Jeffrey Wincott.
