Federal Judge Allows PSEG To Access Private Properties For Transmission Line In Maryland

A federal judge has granted a preliminary injunction allowing Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) Renewable Transmission to access private properties in Baltimore, Carroll, and Frederick Counties for surveying purposes.

The decision comes amid strong opposition from over 100 landowners, which led PSEG to file a lawsuit seeking access to private properties that are located along the route of their proposed 67-mile high-voltage transmission line.

PSEG maintains that access to these private properties is essential for the transmission line project to proceed, as PSEG argues that without the land studies, the transmission line could ultimately face delays or may not be built.

A PSEG spokesperson stated, “We appreciate the Court’s careful consideration of the facts and application of the law in this matter. We are currently reviewing the decision for the next steps in the process.”
