A union representing the Social Security Administration (SSA) has filed a Notice of Correction to the Record that claims the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) misused SSA data.
The notice was filed on January 16 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
The SSA began obtaining records in October 2025 and identified several instances where the DOGE Team’s activities were potentially outside the bounds of a temporary restraining order (TRO) issued by the District Court on March 20, 2025, the documents say.
SSA officials notified Department of Justice attorneys on Dec. 10, 2025, about these concerns.
