Breaking: Prince George’s Council Replaces Jolene Ivey With Ed Burroughs As Chair In Surprise Vote

In a surprise vote, the Prince George’s County Council has removed Jolene Ivey as Council chair.

District 8 Council Member Edward Burroughs III has been named Chair, becoming the youngest to fill the seat in the county. District 7 Council Member Krystal Oriadha as Vice Chair.

In February, Ivey was running in the special election race for country executive in Prince George’s County but later suspended her campaign.

After suspending the campaign, Ivey told 7News there were a variety of reasons for her decision. They were personal, financial and practical.
