Kaiser Permanente will open a new medical center in Hyattsville to replace an older facility on Belcrest Road, the health care company said Wednesday.
Kaiser has acquired land at 5620 Ager Road, part of the the Riverfront at West Hyattsville development from Gilbane Development Co. The 48,000-square-foot facility will be 37% larger than Kaiser’s current facility in that neighborhood, and aims to open in the third quarter of 2022.
The new Kaiser Permanente Prince George’s Medical Center will have 37 exam rooms, lab facilities and a three-level parking garage. Services provided there will be adult and family medicine, pediatrics, OB-GYN, imaging and a pharmacy.
Located adjacent to the West Hyattsville station on Metro’s Green Line, the new medical center is expected to serve 27,000 Kaiser members. Kaiser is pursuing the new building “to accommodate a steady growth of membership in the Hyattsville area,” according to a press release.
