There’s a bidding war going on between Virginia and Maryland leaders.
They’re both vying to have the new FBI headquarters set up shop in their state. Governor Terry McAuliffe hopes the FBI will leave its aging building in Washington D.C. and eventually move to Northern Virginia. He says while Maryland is a tough competitor, he thinks Virginia would make the most sense.
McAuliffe says Virginia has lower taxes, great schools, and many military assets. He also argues most of the FBI agents already live in Virginia.
